August 2008: The CD is done, and it's one to be proud of! "VOODOO DOLL"--Another 11 original tracks taking the "Grease Punk" sound to the swamp. The Mudsharks are still staying true to the traditional roots of American Roots Music and Blues, yet are creating a completely original hard-edged sound. European Release to coincide with Fall Tour, Sept. 2008. U.S. release in Nov. 2008.

January 2008:
Great news for everyone....Eric "Jailhouse" Von Herzen
(harmonica) and Greg "Whiskey Willy" Willis (bass) are
back with The Mississippi Mudsharks! Eric is currently doing most
of the Southern California dates with Social Distortion, and sounding
tougher than ever. We're also very happy about reuniting with
our friend Greg, who lays down a bottom end that's four lanes
wide. The new CD is coming together nicely, and the 2008 European
Tour is gonna kick Ass!
December 2007:
Good news! Zombo's Punk Rods CD "Sinister Surf" is in
the can, and will be made available early 2008. Thirteen killer
surf-rock instrumentals that'll burn themselves into your being
for life!
The Mississippi Mudsharks are hard at work on a new CD (most likely
a double CD at this point!). Everything from traditional blues
to "Grease Punk", not only picking up where "Train
Rolls On" left off, but expanding on the idea and presenting
a few new surprises as well! Should be available by mid '08, with
a European tour slated for Sept-Nov of '08. More info on this
as they develop...
August 2007:
D.A. & The Hitmen have released their new CD for Double Barrel
Records...."Lucky Dog"! Any fan of the Blues needs to
add this CD to their collection. It's RED HOT! A distribution
deal is in the works, but the CD can be purchased now through
this website, D.A. & The Hitmen's official website, and live
shows.
August 2007:
We're back! Tour was killer...25 shows in 31 days! The festivals
were packed, and the club dates kicked ass too. 25,000 folks in
Luxembourg, with the old city as the backdrop to the festival.
Man, we had so much fun that many of the nights we kept playing
long after the actual "show" was over. It was LOUD AND
PROUD!! We even got shut down by the police at the Fantasical
Festival in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. If that ain't rock'n'roll,
I don't know what is. Be on the lookout for some bootleg video
of the festival in Aalen (Germany), shot by our friend Hans Boerner,
and a bunch of pictures of the tour. And who will ever forget
the "Ace Cafe Weekend"?! The most authentic rock'n'roll
club in Belgium...Friday night throwdown, tattoo by "Tom
The Butcher" on Saturday, and the grand finale show with
Los Putas on Sunday. THANKS TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND FANS FOR
A GREAT TOUR!!!!!!
Plans are in the works for a new Mississippi Mudsharks CD in '08,
with a big Fall European Tour....keep posted.
June 2007:

our family! D.A. & The Hitmen (San Diego, CA) and Justus Ewing
(San Diego, CA) are both in production on CD's at Grease Punk
Studios, South. All information on these releases are to be announced
as they progress toward release dates.
D.A. & The Hitmen is putting together a CD of red hot blues
and roots that's gonna be hard to beat. Lance Dieckmann's vocals
and harp playing are power house, and Paul Alvarado's guitarwork
can be ranked up there with all the top modern guys (shit...even
a lot of the old guys for that matter!!). Taste & Tone!!
April 2007:
Announcing the 2007 Mississippi Mudsharks European Tour! Set for
July-August, it's gonna be a hot one. Festivals are being booked
now (see below), and clubs dates will be announced in the following
months. Check back for updates.
Also, don't miss the upcoming "Double Barrel American Roots
Music Night" at Tio Leo's (Napa St., San Diego), Saturday
May 12th. The show will start at 8:30pm, and features Anna Troy,
Hot Rod Trio, and The Mississippi Mudsharks.
Over the years Tio Leo (Napa St.,
San Diego) has been a hot spot for Blues Rockabilly, Country,
and all Roots music. Great room for watching, listening, and dancing.
The management and staff are tops too. This is why I have chosen
to put on my first "produced" show here on Saturday,
May 12th...."Double Barrel American Roots Music Night!"
First up will be Anna Troy and the Dirty Shame...a young up and
coming blues artist who's paid her dues and knows what she's doing.
Anna has been playing with some of the top players in town, including
drummer Brian "Nucci" Cantrell (Lady Dotty & The
Diamonds) and blues harp phenom, Billy Watson. She has also been
schooled the right way by one of the best musicians anywhere...Mr.
Robin Henkel. Do yourself a favor and get there early to catch
her set!
Next up will be Hot Rod Trio, doing a hip set of Rockabilly and
Rock'n'Roll...old school style! They were mainstays at Tio Leo's
awhile back, and have been tearin' up So. Cal for the past 16
years. They were recently inducted into the Rockabilly Hall Of
Fame, 2nd Generation, and promised to get you people on your feet
rockin' and rollin'!
Closing the show is The Mississippi Mudsharks, a favorite of San
Diego since the early 90's. This will be a blistering Blues and
Roots set not to be missed, focusing on our new release "Train
Rolls On" and our "Grease Punk" sound. It will
also be one of the last big shows for us this summer before heading
back over to Europe for our anual festival and club tour.
This isn't going to be your average "go to the bar and see
who's playin'" kinda night...but an event worth saving the
date for. SHOW STARTS AT 8:30pm. Come out and support these hard
working bands, and take home some soul!!

2007 brings the 20th anniversary of the second band I was ever

back in our first band, The Wholly Rollers! Barb Kokaska will
grace us with some outstanding vocals, and friends Peter Vaillancourt
and Chris Christenson will be sittin' in on guitar. Who knows
who else might be dropping by.
We'll be makin' a bunch of noise at the Tiki in P.B. this Saturday
