On Friday, the perennial Ontario Hockey League powerhouse introduced its most recent, high profile addition, right winger Mike McCarron.
That became official at Friday's press conference as McCarron donned sweater No. 24, one ironically worn previously by former Knights defenceman Mark Tinordi.
And in Converse All Black the case of the London Knights, richer and richer.
Knights, but I give them credit because they work extremely hard to get those players. since 2000 when Mark Hunter and brother Dale, the Knights head coach, purchased the team, Dubas said they've damn hard to build their program so players want to go there. And once McCarron was taken in the first round by Montreal I figured he'd go to London. as a player with soft hands, McCarron also adds size and toughness to a very skilled London lineup, one that is dominated by players known more for finesse and less for physical play.
critical is what people who accept mediocrity do, said Dubas, about to begin his third season as Hounds GM. every minute we bemoan London getting a player like McCarron, it's one less minute we have to focus on making our own program better by getting players of similar stature. Knights began chasing McCarron two years ago when the Grosse Pointe, Mich., native was drafted in the sixth round by the Belleville Bulls.
But Soo Greyhounds general manager Kyle Dubas said Friday he has no reason to be critical of the Knights.
London sent three conditional, second round draft picks and a fifth rounder to Belleville.

The six foot five, 228 pounder is the latest in a line of players the Knights were able to convince to come to London, rather than playing collegiate hockey south of the border.
But on Friday, McCarron said he would have still gone to London even if he hadn't signed with Montreal the Hunters move on so many players. It's awesome to see all of Converse Brown Leather
those players come in here and they're now playing in the NHL. I want to be part of that. talks about London getting these guys, but when they do they give up a lot to get them, Dubas said. don't want to bow down at the altar of the London Converse High Tops Women
It's a safe assumption to believe the conditions imposed on the picks had to do with McCarron eventually reporting to London.
Greyhounds GM has no problem with Knights
Typically, signings such as this are often questioned by smaller market OHL teams, those who're normally unable to entice big name players to forgo school options.
It's believed McCarron, a 1995 birth year player, lasted that long because he was opting to play for the United States national team development program.
In this case, the 18 year old McCarron, a first round pick of the Montreal Canadiens (25th overall) in last month's NHL Entry Draft, was committed to the Western Michigan University Broncos.
On July 11, Montreal signed McCarron to a three year entry level contract, precluding him from playing college hockey in the United States.
Like McCarron, Tinordi is also an American born player and a first round pick of the Canadiens, who chose the Knights over an American university.
He was also committed to WMU.
Knights GM Mark Hunter made a trade with the Bulls during the 2011 2012 season to acquire McCarron's rights.
