Treating patients in a group setting offers several benefits. First of all, many people discover that being in a room full of peacefully relaxing people is very comforting, especially when new to acupuncture. Additionally, family and friends can enjoy be treated together, offering support to one another and strengthening social bonds. Finally, the collective energy generated by several people resting and healing together can be a profound element to one's personal experience.

Welcome To Grass Valley Community Acupuncture
In community practice, patients are treated in comfortable recliner chairs along with other people in a relaxing, open space. Treatment protocols emphasize powerful acupuncture points below the elbows and knees, as well as on the head and ears, so you remain fully clothed during treatment. Loose fitting clothing is recommended so you can easily roll up shirt sleeves and pant legs. Patients are encouraged to relax with their needles as long as they feel necessary, and while this typically ranges between 30 60 minutes, you get to choose what's right for you.
Preparation Clinic EtiquetteThe soothing atmosphere in our community room exists because patients create it together through their collective healing energy. To help maintain this peaceful sanctuary, we kindly request that you refrain from socializing while in the room and speak in whispers when communicating information to your acupuncturist. This allows time to remove your shoes, turn off your phone, put your items in a cubby, drink a glass of water or cup of tea, and use the restroom. Your appointment time is the time you should be comfortably relaxed (butt in chair) and ready.

At GVCA, we use a holistic approach to diagnose and correct the energetic imbalances in your body, aiming to identify and alleviate their root cause. Acupuncture works by balancing your body to make it stronger. When your body and mind are strong and balanced, disease cannot take hold.
Chinese medicine is a complete form of medicine that has existed for over 2,000 years. It was the primary form of healing in China until a little over a century ago. Chinese medicine regards the human body, mind and spirit with great reverence, respecting and promoting its boundless capacity for renewal and recovery. Although our bodies indeed possess the inherent wisdom and ability to heal, there are many factors that can impede this natural process.
When imbalance does occur, disease finds a foothold. Insomnia, digestive disturbances, chronic pain, heart arrhythmias, excessive sweating, weight gain or loss, and allergies are examples of early warning signs that a disease process is underway.
Fortunately, acupuncture does not have to be expensive to be effective! Our clinic maintains affordable rates by treating multiple patients together in a serene and comfortable setting. Appointment times are staggered throughout the hour, enabling us to provide personalized care to each patient.
